In the event of the contamination of the public water supply well, the community should have another water source or location in the community that can be used to supply the community with safe drinking water. Each public water supply should also have a contingency plan for their water system that addresses alternate sources for the community water supply in the event of contamination. The Village of Milford has discovered low levels of volatile organic chemicals in the groundwater aquifer that supplies the Village with its drinking water. Quarterly sampling monitors the levels but an alternate water source is essential to our community. Once the test well installation is complete and evaluated, the Village will have an alternate water supply that can be utilized if the chemical levels elevate in the current water wells.
