The Personnel Committee, having reviewed the above referenced resolution on May 16, 2001,
recommends the resolution be adopted:

MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #01129 May 10, 2001

IN RE: Sheriff's Department-Contract Amendment # 4 for Law Enforcement
Services in the Charter Township of Oakland 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Oakland Township has contracted with the Oakland County
Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for the Township
(M.R.#98011); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this contract provides that an amendment to
this contract must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland
County Board of Commissioners and the Oakland Township Board; and
WHEREAS Oakland Township has approved a proposed amendment to the
contract (Schedule A-Sheriff's Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1)
Deputy II no-fill resulting in a total of one (1) Deputy II no-fill being
contracted and bring the total number of contracted deputies to twelve (12);
and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy II no-fill for
Oakland Township under the terms of this contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to the original Schedule A (Sheriff
Deputies Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department 1999-2003 Law
Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Township of Oakland to add
one (1) Deputy II no-fill.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) Deputy II position be created in
the Contracted Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division of the Sheriff's
Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) marked vehicle (with mobile, prep,
MDC and video camera) be added to the County fleet.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect on May
26,2001.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move the
adoption of the foregoing resolution.

NOTE: For each PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-IN) identified above, ONLY the 0.C.S.D. shall, at no
additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S DEPUTY to provide
LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-
IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-weekly period for any reason except those
reasons enumerated in Paragraph 5(a)(1) through Paragraph 5(a)(5) above.
NOTE: No Trainees shall be assigned by the 0.C.S.D. to perform the duties of any SHERIFF'S DEPUTY
contracted for and assigned to perform LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES under the terms of this
Agreement.

OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
1999-2003 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OAKLAND
Amendment 4
Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the COUNTY and CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OAKLAND, the parties hereby agree to
amend said contract in accordance with the attached Schedule A.
All other contractual provisions of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement,
not otherwise affected by the attached Schedule A, remain in full force and effect.
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments,
set forth in this Amendment 1 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement,
("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which
is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the
Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this
Contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, of the
Charter Township of Oakland, hereby acknowledges that he/she has been authorized by a
resolution of the Township Board, to execute this Amendment on behalf of the Municipality and
hereby accepts and binds the Municipality to the terms and conditions of this Amendment.

IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT-CONTRACT AMENDMENT #4 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
SERVICES IN OAKLAND TOWNSHIP
TO: THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has
reviewed the above named Miscellaneous Resolution and finds:
1. The Charter Township of Oakland wishes to amend its contract with
the Oakland County Sheriff for law enforcement services beginning
May 26, 2001.
2. This amendment would add one (1) Sheriff Deputy II (no-fill)
position to the Contracted Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division.
Total number of contracted deputies to Oakland Township would
increase to twelve (12).
3. One (1) marked vehicle (with mobile, prep, MDC and video camera)
will be added to the County Fleet.
4. Operating costs and revenues equal $33,922 for FY 2001, and $86,942
for FY 2002.
5. A one time capital cost of $27,558 for the vehicle and associated
equipment will come from non-departmental contingency.
6. Amendments for FY 2001 and FY 2002 as shown below.
