Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Personnel Committee, having reviewed MR #01303 on November 14, 2001,
recommends the resolution be adopted.

foregoing report.

MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION 101303 November 8, 2001

IN RE: Sheriffs Department-Contract Amendment #2 for Law Enforcement Services in the
Charter Township of Oxford 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Charter Township of Oxford has contracted with the Oakland County Sheriffs
Department to provide law enforcement services for the Township (M.R.#00001); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this contract provides that an amendment to this contract
must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
and the Oxford Township Board; and
WHEREAS Charter Township of Oxford has approved a proposed amendment to the
contract (Schedule A and A-1,Sheriffs Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1) Deputy II
(no-fill) and bring the total number of contracts to thirteen (13); and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) for the Charter
Township of Oxford under the terms of this contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to the original Schedule A (Sheriff Deputies Contracted)
of the Oakland County Sheriffs Department 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
with the Charter Township of Oxford to add one (1) Deputy II (no-fill).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) Deputy II position be created in the Contracted
Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division of the Sheriffs Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) marked patrol vehicle (with mobile, prep and
MDC) be added to the County fleet.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect on January 01, 2002.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move the adoption of the
foregoing resolution.

NOTE: For each PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-IN) identified above, ONLY the 0.C.S.D.
shall, at no additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S
DEPUTY to provide LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a
PATROL DEPUTY ll (WITH FILL-IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-
weekly period for any reason except those reasons enumerated in Paragraph 5(a)(1) through
Paragraph 5(a)(5) above.
NOTE: No Trainees shall be assigned by the 0.C.S.D. to perform the duties of any SHERIFFS
DEPUTY contracted for and assigned to perform LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES under the
terms of this Agreement.

OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
1999-2003 LAW ENFORMCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD
Amendment 2
Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the COUNTY and CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD, the parties hereby agree to
amend said contract in accordance with the attached Schedule A.
All other contractual provisions, of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
not otherwise affected by the attached Schedule A, remain in full force an affect.
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments,
set forth in this Amendment 2 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement,
("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which
is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the
Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this
Contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, William Dunn, Supervisor of the Charter Township of Oxford,
hereby acknowledges that he has been authorized by a resolution of the Township Board, to
execute this Amendment on behalf of the Municipality and hereby accepts and binds the

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Thomas A. Law, Chairperson, Oakland County Board of

IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT-CONTRACT AMENDMENT #2 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT
SERVICES IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD 1999-2003
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has
reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds:
1. The Charter Township of Oxford requests an amendment to the contract
with the Oakland County Sheriff for law enforcement services to the
township beginning January 01, 2002.
2. This amendment adds one (1) Deputy II (no-fill)in the Contracted
Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division. The total number of Deputy II
(no-fill) increases from none (0) to one (1) and the total number of
contracted personnel increases from 12 to 13.
3. Operating costs and revenues related to this addition equal $65,974
for FY 2002 and $91,247 for FY 2003.
4. This additional contract will require the addition of one (1)
unmarked vehicle with mobile and prep radios to the County fleet, at
a one-time cost of $27,558. Funds are available in the Non-
Departmental Contingency Account to cover this capital cost.
5. The FY 2002 and FY 2003 budget should be amended as specified below.
