IN RE: DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND BUDGET / EQUALIZATION DIVISION -
APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT 1 TO CONTRACT FOR OAKLAND COUNTY EQUALIZATION
DIVISION ASSISTANCE SERVICES WITH THE CITY OF FERNDALE
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS, Oakland County and the City of Ferndale acknowledge the
existence of an Agreement for Equalization Division Assistance Services
executed on June 12, 2000, which expires on June 30, 2002. The parties
wish to modify the original Agreement keeping intact the original terms
and conditions, and amend it as follows:
The County agrees to convert the commercial and industrial files
of the City of Ferndale to the master appraisal system of Oakland
County and to electronically enter the records into the master
appraisal system. This does not include establishing the
following: land values, Economic Condition Factors (ECF), or the
final value of the property. The County will not conduct field
inspections for accuracy of existing data. The cost of said
services is a total of $17.06 per parcel (currently 866 parcels).
Payment shall be due and payable as follows: 50% of the total
cost shall be payable on or before December 31, 2002 and the
balance or 50% shall be payable on or before December 31, 2003.
WHEREAS, approval of the said amendment is required from the
Board of Commissioners;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners hereby approves entering into Amendment 1 to the Contract
for Oakland County Equalization Division Assistance Services with the
City of Ferndale;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners'
Chairperson is authorized to sign the said Amendment 1, copies of which
are attached;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Fiscal Year 2002 Budget be
amended as follows:
General Fund Revenue

AMENDMENT 1
TO
CONTRACT FOR OAKLAND COUNTY EQUALIZATION DIVISION
ASSISTANCE SERVICES
WITH
THE CITY OF FERNDALE, MICHIGAN
Oakland County, a Michigan Constitutional Corporation ("County"), 1200 North
Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan 48341 and the City of FERNDALE, a Michigan
Constitutional and Municipal Corporation ("Municipality") whose address is 300 East
Nine Mile Road, Ferndale, Michigan 482220, entered into a contract for assistance
services on July 1, 2000.
The County and the Municipality acknowledge the existence of the Original Agreement
executed on June 12, 2000, which expires on June 30, 2002. The County and the
Municipality wish to modify the Original Agreement keeping intact the original terms and
conditions, and amend it as follows:
The County agrees to convert the commercial and industrial files of the City of Ferndale

The conversion process shall be completed and turned over to the City Assessor of
Ferndale by September 30, 2003 for the 2004 assessment roll. The cost of said services
will be $17.06 per parcel. Payment shall be due and payable as follows: 50% of the total
cost shall be payable on or before December 31, 2002 and the balance or 50% shall be
payable on or before December 31, 2003.
For and in consideration of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments,
warrants, representations, and agreements set forth in this Amendment to the Contract,
and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which is
hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment to the Contract
on behalf of the Parties, and by doing so legally obligate Pnd bind the Parties to the
terms and conditions of this Amendment to the Contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Charles G. Goedert, Mayor of the City of Ferndale, hereby
acknowledges that he has been authorized by a resolution of the City Council of
Ferndale, a certified copy of which is attached, to execute this Amendment to Contract
on behalf of the Municipality and hereby accepts and binds the Municipality to the terms
and conditions of this Amendment to Contract.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, Thomas A. Law, Chairperson, Oakland County Board of

execute this Amendment to Contract on behalf of Oakland County, and hereby accepts
and binds Oakland County to the terms and conditions of this Amendment to Contract.
