MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #02058 March 14, 2002 BY: Public Services Committee, Hugh D. Crawford, Chairperson IN RE: Sheriff's Department-Contract Amendment #4 for Law Enforcement Services in the City of Rochester Hills To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the City of Rochester Hills has contracted with the Oakland County Sheriffs Department to provide law enforcement services for the City (M.R.#98011); and WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this Contract provides that an amendment to this Contract must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and the Rochester Hills City Council; and WHEREAS the City of Rochester Hills has approved a proposed amendment to the contract (Schedule A and A-1 Sheriffs Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) and one (1) Patrol Investigator bringing the total Deputy 11's (no-fill) to thirty-seven (37) and Patrol Investigators to eleven (11) with the total number of contracted officers at fifty-eight (58); and WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) and one (1) Patrol Investigator for the City of Rochester Hills under the terms of this contract. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves an amendment to the original Schedule A and A-1 (Sheriff Deputies Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriffs Department 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the City of Rochester Hills to add one (1) Deputy II (no-fill) and one (1) Patrol Investigator. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that two (2) Deputy II positions be added to the Rochester Hills unit, Patrol Services Division of the Sheriff Department. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) unmarked vehicle (with mobile and prep radio) and one (1) marked patrol unit (with MDC, mobile and prep radio) be added to the County fleet. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect on March 30, 2002. Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move the adoption of the foregoin resolution. William Caddell, County of Oakland OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT 1999-2003 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF ROCHESTER HILLS Amendment 4 Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement between the COUNTY and the CITY OF ROCHESTER HILLS, the parties hereby agree to amend said contract in accordance with the attached Schedules A and A-1. All other contractual provisions, of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement not otherwise affected by the attached Schedules A and A-1, remain in full force and effect. FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments, set forth in this Amendment 4 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement, ("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this Contract. FISCAL NOTE (MR #02058) March 28, 2002 BY: FINANCE COMMITTEE, SUE ANN DOUGLAS, CHAIRPERSON IN RE: SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT-CONTRACT AMENDMENT#4 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES IN THE CITY OF ROCHESTER HILLS TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds: 1. The City of Rochester Hills has requested an amendment to the contract the City has with the Oakland County Sheriff for law enforcement services beginning March 30, 2002. 2. This amendment would add one (1) Deputy II (NO-fill) and one (1) Patrol Investigator to the Rochester Hills unit, Patrol Services Division. 3. Operating costs and revenues equal $80,649 for FY 2002 and $178,574 for FY 2003. 4. This change will require the addition of one (1)unmarked vehicle with mobile and prep radio and one (1) marked patrol unit ( with MDC, mobile and prep radio) to the County fleet. The Capital Costs will come from contingency. 5. The FY 2002 and FY 2003 Budget should be amended as specified below.
