Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Personnel Committee, having reviewed MR #02059 on March 20, 2002,
recommends the resolution be adopted.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Personnel Committee, I move the acceptance of the
foregoing report.

MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #02059 March 14, 2002

IN RE: Sheriffs Department-Contract Amendment #3 for Law Enforcement Services in the
Charter Township of Oxford 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Charter Township of Oxford has contracted with the Oakland County Sheriffs
Department to provide law enforcement services for the Township (M.R.#00001); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this contract provides that an amendment to this contract
must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
and the Oxford Township Board; and
WHEREAS Charter Township of Oxford has approved a proposed amendment to the
contract (Schedule A and A-1, Sheriffs Deputies Contracted) which would add one (1) Lieutenant
and bring the total number of contracted officers to fourteen (14); and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Lieutenant for the Charter Township of
Oxford under the terms of this contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to the original Schedule A (Sheriff Deputies Contracted)
of the Oakland County Sheriffs Department 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
with the Charter Township of Oxford to add one (1) Lieutenant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) Lieutenant position be created in the
Contracted Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division of the Sheriffs Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) marked patrol vehicle (with mobile, prep and
MDC) be added to the County fleet.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect on March 30, 2002.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move the adoption of the
foregoing resolution.

shall, at no additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S
DEPUTY to provide LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a
PATROL DEPUTY ll (WITH FILL-IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-
weekly period for any reason except those reasons enumerated in Paragraph 5(a)(1) through
Paragraph 5(a)(5) above.
NOTE: No Trainees shall be assigned by the 0.C.S.D. to perform the duties of any SHERIFF'S
DEPUTY contracted for and assigned to perform LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES under the
terms of this Agreement.

OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT
1999-2003 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD
Amendment 3
Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the COUNTY and CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD, the parties hereby agree to
amend said contract in accordance with the attached Schedules A and A-1.
All other contractual provisions, of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
not otherwise affected by the attached Schedules A and A-1, remain in full force an effect.
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments,
set forth in this Amendment 3 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement,
("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which
is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the
Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this
Contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, William Dunn, Supervisor of the Charter Township of Oxford,
hereby acknowledges that he has been authorized by a resolution of the Township Board, to
execute this Amendment on behalf of the Municipality and hereby accepts and binds the
Municipality to the terms and pondition'Spf this Amendment.

SERVICES IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OXFORD 1999-2003
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has
reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds:
1. The Charter Township of Oxford has requested an amendment to the law
enforcement services contract with the Oakland County Sheriff,
beginning March 30, 2002
2. This amendment adds one (1) Lieutenant in the Contracted Patrol
Unit, Patrol Services Division.
3. This change also requires the addition of one (1) marked vehicle
with mobile and prep radios to the County fleet. Funds for the
Capital costs are available in the Non-Departmental Contingency
account.
4. Total operating costs and revenues equal $48,716 for FY 2002 and
$107,868 for FY 2003.
5. A budget amendment for FY 2002 and FY 2003 is recommended as
follows:
