Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I move acceptance of the foregoing report. Middleton, District #4 and Nancy Dingeldey, District #11 RE: Board of Commissioners - Support of Oakland County 4-H Youth Leadership Institute TO: Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS, the Oakland County 4-H Youth Leadership Institute is a comprehensive, ten-month program that helps high school-age youth build a broad array of leadership skills, along with an understanding of how they can take action to improve the community; and WHEREAS, this unique program is a collaboration between business, government and local organizations to provide a high quality educational experience for Institute participants; and WHEREAS, by participating as sponsors, Oakland County Commissioners make it possible for a local young person to put their ideas into action through the innovative and comprehensive program offered by the Oakland County 4-H Youth Leadership Institute; and WHEREAS, sponsorship of the Oakland County 4-H Youth Leadership Institute requires support from each Oakland County Commissioner to: (1) identify potential youth participants, (2) serve as a mentor and (3) help with fundraising; and WHEREAS, authorization is sought to identify the Oakland County Board of Commissioners as a program partner. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Oakland County Commissioners agrees to participate as a program partner and support the Oakland County 4-H Youth Leadership Institute. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Oakland County 4-H Youth Leadership Institute is authorized to identify Oakland County Commissioners as a program sponsor. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the participation of the Board of Commissioners does not include any financial commitment on the part of Oakland County in support of the Oakland County 4-H Youth Leadership Institute. Chairperson, we move the adoption of the foregoing Resolution. - Resolution #02067 March 14, 2002 The Chairperson referred the resolution to the General Government Committee.
