SERVICES IN THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OAKLAND 1999-2003

Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The Personnel Committee, having reviewed the above mentioned resolution on March 12, 2003,
recommends the resolution be adopted.

IN RE: Sheriff's Department-Contract Amendment #7 for Law Enforcement
Services in the Charter Township of Oakland 1999-2003
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS Oakland Township has contracted with the Oakland County
Sheriff's Department to provide law enforcement services for the
Township (M.R.496011); and
WHEREAS paragraph 23 of this contract provides that an amendment
to this contract must be approved by concurrent resolutions of both the
Oakland County 3oard of Commissioners and the Oakland Township Board;
and
WHEREAS Oakland Township has approved a proposed amendment to the
contract (Schedule A-1, Sheriff's Deputies Contracted) which would add
one (1) Deputy II no-fill resulting in a total of two (2) Deputy II no-
fill being contracted and bring the total number of contracted deputies
to fourteen (14); and
WHEREAS the Sheriff has agreed to add one (1) Deputy II no-fill
for Oakland Township under the terms of this contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves an amendment to the original A-1 (Sheriff
Deputies Contracted) of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department 1999-
2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the Charter Township of
Oakland to add one (1) Deputy I: no-fill.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that one (1) Deputy II position be created
in the Contracted Patrol Chit, Patrol Services Division of the
Sheriff's Department.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment will take effect on
April 5, 2003.
Chairperson, on behalf of the Public Services Committee, I move
the adoption of the foregoing resolution.

OAKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
1999-2003 LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH
CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OAKLAND
Amendment 7
Pursuant to paragraph 23 of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
between the COUNTY and CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF OAKLAND, the parties hereby agree to
amend said contract in accordance with the attached Schedule A-1.
All other contractual provisions, of the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement
not otherwise affected by the attached Schedule A-1, remain in full force an effect.
FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the mutual assurances, promises, acknowledgments,
set forth in this Amendment 7 to the 1999-2003 Law Enforcement Services Agreement,
("Amendment") and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which
is hereby acknowledged, the undersigned hereby execute this Amendment on behalf of the
Parties, and by doing so legally obligate and bind the Parties to the terms and conditions of this
Contract.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, SUSAN HOFFMAN, SUPERVISOR of the Charter Township
of Oakland, hereby acknowledges that he/she has been authorized by a resolution of the
Township Board, to execute this Amendment on behalf of the Municipality and hereby accepts
and binds the Municipality to the terms and conditions of this Amendment.

NOTE: For each PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-IN) identified above, ONLY the 0.C.S.D.
shall, at no additional cost to the MUNICIPALITY, provide a substitute (i.e., FILL-IN) SHERIFF'S
DEPUTY to provide LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES to the MUNICIPALITY whenever a
PATROL DEPUTY II (WITH FILL-IN) is absent from the MUNICIPALITY during any 80 hour bi-
weekly period for any reason except those reasons enumerated in Paragraph 5(a)(1) through

TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
Pursuant to Rule XII-C of this Board, the Finance Committee has
reviewed the above referenced resolution and finds:
1. The Charter Township of Oakland has requested an amendment to the
contract between the Charter Township of Oakland and the Oakland
County Sheriff for law enforcement services beginning April 5, 2003.
2. This amendment would add one (I) Deputy II (No-fill) to the
Contracted Patrol Unit, Patrol Services Division.
3. Operating costs and revenues equal $45,267 for FY 2003 and $90,534
for FY 2004.
4. A budget amendment to the FY 2003 and FY 2004 budget is recommended
as follows:
