IN RE: WEST NILE VIRUS FUND REIMBURSEMENT FOR PROaECT IN THE CITY OF
PONTIAC - FISCAL YEAR 2005 ALLOCATION
TO THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners via
Miscellaneous Resolution 405061 approved the extension of the West Nile
Virus Fund for FY 2005; and
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners established a
West Nile Virus Fund Disbursement Policy per Miscellaneous Resolution
403060 in an effort to assist cities, villages and townships (CVTs)
with mosquito control measures to prevent the spread of West Nile Virus
and to help protect the health, safety and welfare of the people of
Oakland County; and
WHEREAS pursuant to the Disbursement Policy, the City of Pontiac
has submitted a resolution of authorization to the County for
reimbursement of expenses incurred in connection with an eligible
mosquito control project; and
WHEREAS the FY 2005 authorized amount of funding for the City of
Pontiac is $23,628.15 from the West Nile Virus Fund as repayment to the
City of Pontiac for expenses incurred in connection with mosquito
control projects.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of
Commissioners approves the project submitted by the City of Pontiac as
eligible for reimbursement from the West Nile Virus Fund.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board authorizes the FY 2005
appropriation in the amount of $23,628.15 from the West Nile Virus Fund
(Account 490-210000-23030-9098) to repay the City of Pontiac for
expenses incurred in connection with the mosquito control project, once
proper invoices are presented.

I am in receipt of a West Nile Virus fund reimbursement request from the City of
Pontiac dated August 1, 2005. After having reviewed their documentation, I find
them in compliance with Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Miscellaneous Resolution 05061 and in compliance with at least one of the four
major categories for reimbursement. This letter will, therefore, certify that all
expenses submitted for reimbursement are for qualifying mosquito control

Pursuant to Oakland County Board of Commissioner Miscellaneous Resolution (MR)
05091, the City of Pontiac hereby requests reimbursement under Oakland County's
West Nile Virus Fund Program for expenses incurred in connection with an eligible mosquito
control activity by our City.
Beginning March 1, 2005 Pontiac Sewer Maintenance crews began cleaning every street
catch basin in the City. Approximately 8000 catch basins were cleaned by the end of June
2005. Beginning the first week of May 2005 City crews started placing Altosid Ingot
Briquettes (150/day) purchased from Clarke Mosquito Control into catch basins that had
already been cleaned. All street catch basins were cleaned and larvacided by Jue_3O 2005.

RESOLUTION OF THE PONITAC CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Oakland County Executive, the Oakland County Board
of Commissioners has established a West Nile Virus Fund Program to assist Oakland County cities,
villages and townships in addressing mosquito control activities; and
WHEREAS, Oakland County's West Nile Virus Fund Program authorizes Oakland County cities,
villages, and townships to apply for reimbursement of eligible expenses incurred in connection with
personal mosquito protection measures/activity, mosquito habitat eradication, mosquito larviciding
or focused adult mosquito insecticide spraying in designated community green areas; and
WHEREAS, the City if Pontiac, Oakland County, Michigan has incurred expenses in connection with
mosquito control activities believed to be eligible for reimbursement under Oakland County's West
Nile Virus Program,
NOW, THEREFORE BE if RESOLVED, that this Pontiac City Council authorizes and directs its
Public Utilities Administrator, as agent for the City of Pontiac, in the manner and to the extent provided
Under Oakland County Board of Commissioner Miscellaneous Resolution #05091, to request
Reimbursement of eligible mosquito control activity under Oakland County's West Nile Virus Fund
Program.
