Home My WebLink AboutResolutions - 2006.11.30 - 28283MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #06225 November 30, 2006 BY: Public Services Committee, Jeff Potter, Chairperson IN RE: SHERIFF'S OFFICE - FY 2007 SECONDARY ROAD PATROL AND TRAFFIC ACCIDENT PREVENTION PROGRAM GRANT ACCEPTANCE To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and GentLemeri: WHEREAS the Sheriff's Office applied to the Michigan Department of State Police - Office of Highway Safety Planning for $1,167,342 in grant funding from Public Act 416 to conduct secondary road patrol activities for the period October 1, 2006 thro'„Igh September 30, 2007; and WHEREAS the Michigan Depar;.ment of State Police - Office of Highway Safety Planning has awarded Oakland County with a grant in the amount of $1,167,342, which is a slight increase over the FY 2006 award; and WHEREAS the grant provides funding for eight (0) Deputy II positions (#1539, #2572, #2957, 43114, 43324, #7327, 47501 and #9191) and two (2) Sergeant positions (4779C and 49902; located in the Patrol Services Division; and WHEREAS no county match or additional positions are required; and WHEREAS the acceptance of this grant does not obligate the County to any future commitment; and WHEREAS the continuation of the program is contingent upon future levels of grant program fund1=. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves the FY 2007 Secondary Road Patrol Grant award from the Michigan Department of State Police - Office ot highway Safety Planning in the amount of $1,167,432 and that the Board Chairperson, on behalf of the County of Oakland, is authorized to execute said agreement as attached. The Michigan Department of State Police - Office of Highway Safety Planning awarded Oakland County a grant in the amount of $1,167,342 for the period October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007.
