IN RE: MR #07126 — BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS — SUPPORT OF SENATE
BILLS 440, 441, 442, 443 TO PROTECT HUNTING AND FISHING ON STATE-
OWNED PROPERTY IN MICHIGAN UNDER THE DEPARTMENT OF
NATURAL RESOURCES

Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen:
The General Government Committee, having reviewed Miscellaneous Resolution
#07126 on June 4, 2007, reports with a recommendation that the resolution be adopted.
Chairperson, on behalf of the General Government Committee, I move
acceptance of the foregoing report.

RE: Board of Commissioners-
Support of Senate Bills 440, 441, 442, 443 to protect hunting and fishing on
State owned property in Michigan under the Department of Natural
Resources
TO: Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairman, Ladies, and Gentlemen:
Whereas the State of Michigan is a beautiful property with wildlife, fish, and water; and
Whereas the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) oversees the use and preservation of the
natural resources of the State of Michigan; and
Whereas the State of Michigan has a wealth of State owned property that provides hunting,
fishing, and fur harvesting; and
Whereas residents of Michigan can obtain licenses to hunt, fish, and harvest fur on State owned
land, we, the Commissioners of Oakland County, support Senate Bills, 440, 441, 442, and 443, as
a means of protecting the interests of those who hunt, fish, and fur harvest on Michigan owned
property.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners is
supporting the right of Michiganians to hunt, fish, and fur harvest, on State owned property under
the regulation of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) as specified in the above listed
Senate Bills.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners respectfully
requests Oakland County Clerk, Ruth Johnson, to forward copies of this adopted resolution to
Governor Jennifer Granholm, Senate Majority Leader Michael Bishop and other Oakland County
Senators, Speaker of the House Andy Dillon and other Oakland County State Representatives.
