Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Gershenson, Jackson, Luebs, Markham, McGillivray, Miller, Nelson, Powell, Quarles, Woodward, Zack. (11) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: None. (0) Quorum present. No one addressed the Caucus during Public Comment. Moved by Luebs seconded by Markham the minutes of the April 2, 2019 Caucus be approved. A sufficient majority having voted in favor, the minutes were approved. The members of the Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Luebs addressed the Caucus regarding Healthy Communities and Environment Committee item a. entitled: Board of Commissioners – Expanding the Services of Youth Mobile Crisis Team to All Children and Youth in Oakland County. Commissioner Luebs addressed the Caucus regarding the measles outbreak in Oakland County. Kathy Forzley, Director, Oakland County Health and Human Services addressed the Caucus regarding the measles outbreak in Oakland County. Discussion followed. Commissioner Quarles addressed the Caucus regarding Legislative Affairs and Government Operations Committee item c. entitled: Board of Commissioners – Authorize Standard Per Diem Rate Schedule for Various Oakland County Boards, Commissions and Authorities. Commissioner Zack addressed the Caucus regarding Finance Committee item a. entitled: Corporation Counsel – Interlocal Agreement for Mandated Michigan Indigent Defense Commission Standard 1 – Continuing Legal Education Requirements. Discussion followed. 136 Commissioner Miller addressed the Caucus regarding Economic Growth and Infrastructure Committee item l. entitled: Board of Commissioners – Recognizing Oakland County as a Welcoming County. Jordie Kramer, Director, Human Resources addressed the Caucus regarding Legislative Affairs and Government Operations Committee item a. entitled: Human Resources Department – Change to Merit System Rules 24 and 26 for Compliance with the Paid Medical Leave Act. Commissioner Quarles addressed the Caucus regarding Legislative Affairs and Government Operations Committee item f. entitled: MR #19051 - Board of Commissioners – Support Legislation to “Raise the Age” for Juvenile Offenders in Michigan. Chris Ward, Board of Commissioners Chief of Staff addressed the Caucus regarding Legislative Affairs and Government Operations Committee item c. entitled: Board of Commissioners – Authorize Standard Per Diem Rate Schedule for Various Oakland County Boards, Commissions and Authorities. Robert Daddow, Deputy County Executive addressed the Caucus regarding the replacement of Public Safety Equipment. Discussion followed. Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution being introduced today by Commissioner Jackson entitled: Board of Commissioners – Establishment of the Oakland County Complete Count Committee. Discussion followed. Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution being introduced today by Commissioner Markham entitled: Board of Commissioners – Designation of April 22, 2019 as Earth Day in Oakland County. Commissioner Markham will be requesting Suspension of the Board Rules for Immediate Consideration. Discussion followed. Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution being introduced today by Commissioner Miller entitled: Board of Commissioners – Designation of May 2019 as Mental Health Month and May 6, 2019 as Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day in Oakland County. Commissioner Miller will be requesting Suspension of the Board Rules for Immediate Consideration. Discussion followed. Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution being introduced today by Commissioner Woodward entitled: Board of Commissioners – Opposition to the Deportation of Iraqi Nationals and Chaldean Christians Residing in Oakland County. Discussion followed. Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution being introduced today by Commissioner Taub entitled: Board of Commissioners – Family-Friendly Board of Commissioners Meeting Calendar. Discussion followed. 137 Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding a new proposed Miscellaneous Resolution being introduced today by Commissioner Taub entitled: Board of Commissioners – Oakland County Designation of the Week of Sunday, April 28, 2019 Through Sunday, May 3, 2019 as Days of Remembrance and Thursday, May 2, 2019 as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holocaust. Chris Ward, Board of Commissioners Chief of Staff addressed the Caucus regarding the Caucus Memo. Commissioner Gershenson addressed the Caucus regarding the Women’s Suffragette Meeting. Commissioner Powell addressed the Caucus regarding the Oakland County Economic Outlook Luncheon. The luncheon will be held on April 26, 11:00 a.m. at the Troy Marriott Hotel. Commissioner Powell addressed the Caucus regarding the National Association of Black County Officials Conference. Commissioner Powell addressed the Caucus regarding lifeguards being needed at sixteen Oakland County Parks and eighteen Oakland County beaches. Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding the Great Marshmallow Drop on April 19, 2019. The event will be held this year at Worden Park in Royal Oak at 10:00 a.m. Chairperson Gary McGillivray addressed the Caucus regarding homelessness round table which will take place April 26th at Genesis the Church in Royal Oak. Commissioner Woodward addressed the Caucus to introduce Congresswoman Haley Stevens, United States House of Representatives from Michigan’s 11th congressional district.
