Hallmark on February 24, 2016 at 1:32 p.m., in the Elections Division, Board of Canvassers/Training Room, 1st floor, West Wing Extension, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac, MI 48341. ROLL CALL: MEMBERS PRESENT: Hallmark, Brown, Meisner. (3) ABSENT: None. (0) OTHERS PRESENT: Joseph J. Rozell, Director of Elections; Heather Kadulski, Elections Specialist; Sheila Cummings, Deputy County Clerk/Register; Ross Gavin, Deputy Treasurer for Public Policy & Outreach and Nicole Tabin, Assistant Corporation Counsel. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Moved by MEISNER seconded by BROWN to approve the agenda. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Moved by BROWN seconded by MEISNER to approve the minutes of the January 26, 2016 Board of County Election Commissioners Meeting. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: A. SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THE CITY OF PONTIAC BALLOT LANGUAGE. Joseph Rozell, Director of Elections addressed the Commission regarding ballot language submitted by the School District of the City of Pontiac and stated the ballot language was not properly certified to our office as it contained a contingency and should therefore be disapproved. Moved by BROWN seconded by HALLMARK that the ballot language not be approved. VOTE ON DISAPPROVAL OF BALLOT LANGAUGE: AYES: BROWN, HALLMARK, MEISNER NAYS: NONE The ballot language was NOT APPROVED. Page Two February 24, 2016 Board of County Election Commissioners Meeting B. APPROVAL OF BALLOTS FOR THE MAY 3, 2016 ELECTION. Judge Hallmark stated that sample ballots were submitted to the Commissioners for approval. The Commissioners reviewed ballots submitted for Township of Addison, Precinct 3, City of Farmington Hills, Precinct 27 and City of Troy, Precinct 24 & 25. Judge Hallmark asked for a motion to approve the ballots for the May 3, 2016 Special Election. Moved by BROWN seconded by MEISNER that the ballots be approved. VOTE ON APPROVAL OF BALLOTS: AYES: BROWN, MEISNER, HALLMARK NAYS: NONE The ballots were APPROVED. PUBLIC COMMENT: None. Moved by MEISNER seconded by BROWN that the meeting be adjourned.
