HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 2018.01.16 - 31829 OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY CANVASSERS MEETING MINUTES CALL TO ORDER: The Board of County Canvassers meeting was called to order by Heide Oprisiu; Chairperson on January 16, 2018 at 2:02 p .m., in the Elections Division, Conference Room, 1st floor, West Wing Extension, 1200 N. Telegraph Rd., Pontiac, MI 48341. ROLL CALL: BOARD OF COUNTY CANVASSERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Oprisiu, Cotton, Deneweth, Harsten-Spann. (3) ABSENT: None. (0) OTHERS PRESENT: Lisa Brown, County Clerk; Joseph J. Rozell, Director of Elections; Ella Mills, Election Specialist; and Heather Kadulski, Elections Specialist. APPROVAL OF AGENDA: Moved by HARSTEN-SPANN seconded by COTTON to approve the agenda. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Moved by DENEWETH seconded by COTTON to approve the minutes of the November 8, 2017 Board of County Canvassers Meeting. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: A. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIRPERSON: Moved by DENEWETH seconded by COTTON to appoint Heide Oprisiu as chairperson. Motion carried. Page Two January 16, 2018 Board of County Canvassers Meeting B. APPOINTMENT OF VICE CHAIRPERSON: Moved by COTTON seconded by OPRISIU to appoint Jeanne Deneweth as Vice Chairperson. Motion carried. C. ESTABLISH 2018-2019 RULES AND RECOUNT PROCEDURES: Moved by COTTON seconded by DENEWETH to establish the following rules: Recounts shall be conducted pursuant to MCL 168.871(4)(b), and will be processed on the Verity High Speed Tabulator. Ballots requiring adjudication will be projected for viewing by the candidates and the Board of County Canvassers. After the results have been uploaded into Verity Count the reports produced shall become the certified results. Motion carried. D. DISPOSITION OF VOTING EQUIPMENT MEMORY DEVICES: Moved by HARSTEN-SPANN seconded by COTTON to establish the following policy: The clerks of Oakland County shall deliver the voting equipment memory devices on election night. These memory devices include the v-drives and Verity Keys for both the Scan units and the Touchwriters. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT: Max Rohtbart addressed the board. Moved by COTTON seconded by DENEWETH to adjourn meeting. Motion carried.
