Telegraph Road, Pontiac, Michigan. Roll called. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Gingell, Hoffman, Kochenderfer, Kowall, Kuhn, Long, Middleton, Spisz, Taub, Weipert. (10) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: None. (0) Quorum present. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding Commissioner Woodward’s resignation and the legalities of rescinding his resignation. Discussion followed. Commissioner Middleton addressed the Caucus to ask if the Clerk’s office has Commissioner Woodward’s resignation letter on file. Discussion followed. Gerald Poisson, County Executive addressed the Caucus regarding his role as County Executive, the county budget, the importance of maintaining county financial obligations and protecting the counties AAA bond rating. Discussion followed. Commissioner Hoffman addressed the Caucus to thank Gerald Poisson, County Executive for his service to Oakland County. Discussion followed. The members of the Caucus discussed the Board Agenda. Commissioner Weipert addressed the Caucus regarding the results from the bipartisan candidate evaluation committee. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the possibility of nominating Gerald Poisson to remain County Executive. Discussion followed. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued. Michael McCabe, Undersheriff, Oakland County addressed the Caucus regarding Deputy presence and their role at the Board of Commissioners Meeting. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding Public Safety and Social Justice Committee item b. entitled: Sheriff’s Office – Use of Forfeited Funds. Discussion followed. JoEllen Shortley, Corporation Counsel addressed the Caucus regarding an injunction filed against the Board of Commissioners. Discussion followed. Commissioner Kochenderfer addressed the Caucus regarding the importance of competent leadership for Oakland County residents. Discussion followed. Commissioner Kuhn addressed the Caucus inquiring if the results from the bipartisan candidate evaluation committee have been provided to the Commissioners. Discussion followed. Caucus recessed at 9:16 a.m. Chairperson Michael Gingell called the Caucus to reconvene at 11:28 a.m. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus regarding the Executive position. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus asking if he has their support to address the Democratic Caucus with a possible solution to filling the Executive position. Discussion followed. JoEllen Shortley, Corporation Counsel addressed the Caucus regarding the motion for injunction. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell left the meeting to speak with the members of the Democratic Caucus. Discussion followed. Commissioner Gingell addressed the Caucus informing them that the Democratic Party would be nominating Dave Coulter as County Executive. Discussion followed. Republican Caucus Minutes Continued.
