Woodward, District #19; Nancy Quarles, District #17; Commissioner Tom Kuhn, District #11 IN RE: BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS - EXTENSION OF GRANT APPLICATION DEADLINE PERIOD FOR THE OAKLAND TOGETHER SMALL BUSINESS AND LOCAL CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECOVERY GRANT PROGRAMS To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen: WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approved MR #20206, on June 25, 2020, establishing the Oakland Together Small Business Recovery Grant program to assist small businesses with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic; and WHEREAS MR #20206 set a grant application period of up to six weeks for the program; and WHEREAS the Oakland Together Small Business Recovery Grant Program has awarded $16,440,000 as of August 10, 2020 out of the original $32 million allocated to the program; and WHEREAS the Oversight Committee recommends extending the grant application period to September 14, 2020; and WHEREAS extending the grant deadline will allow the Oakland Together Small Business Recovery Grant Program to continue to support our local small businesses across the county. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Oakland County Board of Commissioners hereby extends the grant application deadline forthe Oakland Together Small Business Recovery Grant Program to September 14, 2020. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Oakland Together Small Business Recovery Grant Program Oversight Committee is authorized to extend or close the application process if the total money allocated to the program is awarded before September 14, 2020. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all Small Business Stabilization Grant awards that have not been claimed by grantees will be moved into the Oakland Together Small Business Recovery Grant program. The redirection of these funds will allow EDCA to redistribute the grant funds to small business that have submitted a grant, have been approved, and have submitted the requested paperwork necessary to process payment.
