IN RE: CENTRAL SERVICES — FLEET EXPANSION OF ONE (1) VEHICLE FOR EMERGENCY
MANAGEMENT AND HOMELAND SECURITY
To the Oakland County Board of Commissioners
Chairperson, Ladies and Gentlemen
WHEREAS the Oakland County Board of Commissioners adopted a leased vehicle policy through
Miscellaneous Resolution #93230, which was amended by Miscellaneous Resolution #94357 and
superseded by Miscellaneous Resolution #19004 requiring additional vehicles to be approved by the
Oakland County Board of Commissioners; and
WHEREAS Emergency Management and Homeland Security has requested the addition of one (1)
department owned vehicle, which includes one (1) Box Truck to the County Fleet; and
WHEREAS Emergency Management and Homeland Security requires a Box Truck for the delivery of
personal protective equipment for first responders and health care workers and for transportation of
logistical items and equipment in the event of a future emergency within our County, or outside of the
County based upon Mutual Aid; and
WHEREAS the capital cost of the vehicle is $53,860, and $3,276 is the estimated annual operating
expenditures including insurance, gas and oil; and
WHEREAS the funding for the acquisition of the vehicle has been determined to be eligible for
Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF), which has been included in the Non -Departmental General Fund in the
FY 2021 Adopted Budget; and
WHEREAS funding for the on -going operations is $3,276; and
WHEREAS required by policy, the County Executive's Department of Central Services has reviewed the
request and determined it is justified within the policy.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners authorizes the
expansion of the County Fleet by one (1) vehicle to be assigned to Emergency Management and
Homeland Security.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the budget for FY 2021 — FY 2023 be amended as follows:
