Roll called. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Cavell from Ferndale in Oakland County, Charles from Southfield in Oakland County, Gershenson from Bloomfield Township in Oakland County, Jackson from Southfield in Oakland County, Luebs from Clawson in Oakland County, Markham from Novi in Oakland County, Miller from Farmington in Oakland County, Nelson from Waterford Township in Oakland County, Powell from Pontiac in Oakland County, Woodward from Royal Oak in Oakland County. (10) EXCUSED ABSENCE WITH NOTICE: McGillivray. (1) Quorum present. No one addressed the Caucus during Public Comment. Hilarie Chambers, Chief Deputy Executive, addressed the Caucus to inform the Commissioners that the County COVID-19 Pandemic Response Dashboard on the Oakland County website went live this afternoon. This dashboard will allow anyone to view the dollar amounts granted to Oakland County small businesses, communities and individuals through the Federal CARES Act. Hilarie Chambers, Chief Deputy Executive, addressed the Caucus to give a presentation and respond to questions about the American Rescue Plan. She stated that no specific guidelines have been given to the County at this time and Administration is currently evaluating the needs of the County. Chairperson Kristen Nelson turned the gavel over to Commissioner Gershenson. Discussion followed. Commissioner Cavell addressed the Caucus to inquire how this grant funding will be coordinated and maximized. Democratic Caucus Minutes Continued. April 26, 2021 293 Discussion followed. Commissioner Woodward addressed the Caucus and stated that this funding is twofold. There will be both American Rescue Plan funding and Infrastructure funding. Discussion followed. Hilarie Chambers, Chief Deputy Executive, addressed the Caucus and stated that the Cities, Villages and Townships will receive their grant funding directly and it will not need to be processed through the County. Discussion followed. Commissioner Cavell addressed the Caucus to point out that the needs of the Cities, Villages and Townships may be greater than expected.
