Section 5.1 of the City of Walled Lake Charter requires elected officials to maintain residence in the
City but contains no definition of "residence". If approved, this Proposal would amend section 5.1 by
adopting the following definition: 'Residence' or "residency" means maintaining a continuous and
uninterrupted domicile in a principle permitted residential dwelling structure located entirely within
the established municipal boundaries of the City of Walled Lake throughout any term of office and
as further provided by this section.
