IN RE: Economic Development - Veterans Services - Grant Amendment County Veterans Service Fund
Grant Amendment
Chairperson and Members of the Board:
WHEREAS the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency has offered Oakland County's Veterans' Services Division
additional grant funding in the amount of $148,243 for Fiscal Year 2022; and
WHEREAS this is in addition to the $497,221 previously awarded under MR #21386, which was adopted on
October 13, 2021; and
WHEREAS the funding will be utilized to increase allocations for Marketing, Veteran Hiring and
Transportation; and
WHEREAS this grant amendment has completed the Grant Review Process in accordance with the Grants
Policy approved by the Board of Commissioners at their January 21, 2021 meeting; and
WHEREAS there is no County match required with this grant.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners accepts
additional grant funding from the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency in the amount of $148,243 for the grant
period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners is authorized to execute
the grant agreement and to approve any grant extensions or changes, within fifteen percent (15%) of the original
award, which are consistent with the original agreement as approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that acceptance of this grant does not obligate the County to any future
commitment, and continuation of the grant program is contingent upon future levels of grant funding.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the FY 2022 Special Revenue budget is amended per the attached
Schedule A, to reflect the grant award of $148,243.

The draft resolution will need to be updated to include the budgetary impact language and budget
for the additional awarded amount (Schedule A budget amendment). The budget amendment is to
be for the additional amount as the $497 221 should already be reflected in the budget.

This form is required for requesting any changes to grant activities that differ from those outlined in the signed grant
agreement. Activities include, but are not limited to, focus areas, budget items, staffing, etc. Activities that differ from those
stated in the signed agreement will not be covered under the grant agreement until the change form has been submitted,
signed and approved, and returned to the Grantee by the MVAA. Amendment deadline for FY22 is July 31, 2022.

The additional amount of $148,243.00 was approved as a supplement to the Oakland County CVSF Grant. We would like to
allocate those funds as additions to previous approved projects. We would like to allocate an additional $48,243.00 to
marketing. We would also like to allocate an additional $50,000.00 to the Veteran Hire Program and an additional $50,000.00
to our Transportation Program.
