MISCELLANEOUS RESOLUTION #22-154

Management and Budget - Resolution 2022 Parks and Recreation Property Tax Levy
Chairperson and Members of the Board:
WHEREAS a tax levy to support parks and recreation activities was approved by the Oakland County voters
on November 3, 2020 and is modified consistent with Michigan Law (MCL 211.341)(26)), the "Headlee
Amendment"; and
WHEREAS 0.3431 mills is the maximum allowable tax rate after applying the "Headlee" millage reduction
fraction of 0.9889 to the 2021 millage rate of 0.3470; and
WHEREAS the 0.3431 millage rate is estimated to generate $23,872,723 to support Oakland County Parks and
Recreation Commission activities.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that each Supervisor of the various townships and Assessing
Officers of the several cities of Oakland County are authorized and directed to spread on their respective
township or city tax rolls for the year 2022 December Levy, a tax rate of 0.3431 mills for Oakland County Parks
and Recreation activities, to be applied to the 2022 Taxable Value of all property located within their respective
jurisdictions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners does authorize execution
of the Michigan Department of Treasury form L-4029 — 2022 Tax Rate Request by signature of the Chairperson
of the Board of Commissioners.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the December 2022 levy impacts Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 and the
estimated revenue of $23,395,269 will be reflected in the FY 2023 — FY 2025 budget.
