This leadership role gave me the work and volunteer experience which made me a passionate supporter of the local and county -wide parks and recreational program. Currently, through my sorority I am on the health and wellness committee in which I promote health and wellness opportunities throughout the county and I also volunteer my time to support these types of events. I also work as the communications director for the American Heart Association where I spread the life-saving message of our organization to Southeastern Michigan residents. This role has allowed for me to partner with the parks and recreation department of Oakland County during our yearly heart walk to highlight and drive residents to our parks and I am looking forward to more opportunities for collaborations between parks and the AHA in the future. Lastly, since 2017 I volunteer my time as an internet wellness advocate speaking to local community groups and schools about staying cyber safe, internet wellness, and unplugging from social media and technology.
