Resolution Sponsoring the 2022 Clawson Fourth of July Festival
Chairperson, the Board of Commissioners recommends the following Board action:
Motion to recommend that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners authorize sponsoring the 2022
Clawson 4th of July Parade in the amount of $5,000. Further, the Board of Commissioners requests the
Purchasing Division to execute an agreement and any related documents between Oakland County and the
Clawson Fourth of July Committee.
Chairperson, the following Commissioners recommend the adoption of the foregoing Board action: Penny
Luebs.

Board of Commissioners - Resolution Sponsoring the 2022 Clawson Fourth of July Festival
Chairperson and Members of the Board:
WHEREAS from 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence,
with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues;
and
WHEREAS the celebration of Independence Day in Clawson is a week-long event hosting a concert in the
park, a kiddie parade and freedom run before July 4, leading to additional excitement and anticipation for the
parade, fair and fireworks on July 4th; and
WHEREAS the Clawson 4th of July Parade is a,family-oriented event and it has been a tradition since 1933
with the exception of one year during wartime; and
WHEREAS one-time funding of $5,000 is available from the non -departmental transfers General Fund Special
Projects expenditure line item and will be re -appropriated within the Board of Commissioners General Fund
Special Projects expenditure line -item budget for the sponsorship of the 2022 Clawson July 4th Parade.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Oakland County Board of Commissioners authorizes
sponsoring the 2022 Clawson 4th of July Parade in the amount of $5,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners requests the Purchasing Division to execute
an agreement and any related documents between Oakland County and the Clawson Fourth of July Committee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the FY 2022 budget shall be amended as reflected in the attached
Schedule A — Budget Amendment.
Penny Luebs moved to adopt the attached Resolution: Sponsoring the 2022 Clawson Fourth of July Festival.
Seconded by Eileen Kowall.
