The meeting of the General Government Committee was called to order at 9:37 a.m. by
Chairperson Patterson, in Committee Room A, Commissioners’ Wing, County Service
Center, Pontiac, Michigan.

DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES/HUMAN SERVICES COORDINATING COUNCIL – FY
2000-2001 CHILD PROTECTION/COMMUNITY PARTNERS GRANT APPLICATION/
ACCEPTANCE
The resolution would authorize acceptance of the FY 2000 -2001 Child Protection/Community
Partners Grant, predicated upon the Michigan Family Independence Agency’s (MFIA) agreement
to contract language changes to its final offer for a fiduciary contract, as outlined in the resolution.
The contract would provide $331,170 for the period October 1, 2000, through September 30,
2001, to provide ongoing support for the activities of the Human Services Coordinating Council.
Dr. Gordon provided the Committee with a brief history of the ongoing contract discussions with
the MFIA regarding both this grant and the Strong Families/Safe Ch ildren grant.
Moss moved approval of the attached suggested Resolution. Supported by Webster.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with McPherson absent.

2000-2001 STRONG FAMILIES/SAFE CHILDREN GRANT APPLICATION/ACCEPTANCE
The resolution would authorize acceptance of the FY 2000 -2001 Strong Families/Safe Children
grant, predicated upon the Michigan Family Independence Agency’s (MFIA) agreement to contract
language changes to its final offer for a fiduciary contract, as outlined in the resolution. The
contract would provide $516,000 for the period October 1, 2000, through September 30, 2001, to
provide ongoing support for the activities of the Human Services Coordinating Counc il.
Taub moved approval of the attached suggested Resolution. Supported by Crawford.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with McPherson absent.
