COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: William R. Patterson, Shelley G. Taub, George Suarez, Hugh D. Crawford, Chuck Moss, Peter H. Webster, Ruel E. McPherson, and Michelle Friedman Appel. COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT: None. McPherson Michelle Friedman Appel PUBLIC COMMENT: Mr. Payne, Bloomfield Township Supervisor expressed his opinion regarding MR #01305. APPROVAL OF THE PREVIOUS MINUTES Taub moved approval of the minutes of December 3, 2001, as printed. Supported by Crawford. Motion carried on a voice vote MR #01305 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – ACCEPTANCE OF PETITION FOR DETACHMENT AND SCHEDULING DETACHMENT VOTE OF ELECTORATE OF THE CITY OF PONTIAC TO THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF BLOOMFIELD A – REPORT FROM SUBCOMMITTEE Peter Webster, Chairperson of the Detachment Petition Subcom mittee, reviewed the Subcommittee's Report of December 3, 2001. Webster moved to Receive & File the Report of the Detachment Petition Subcommittee dated December 3, 2001. Supported by Crawford. Motion carried on a voice vote. B – CLERK/REGISTER – STATUS REPORT ON VERIFICATION OF REGISTERED VOTERS AND FREEHOLDER STATUS FROM DETACHMENT PETITIONS Deputy Clerk/Register Millard reported his office was in the process of verifying the petition signatures. It is hoped this process will be completed by Tuesda y, December 11, 2001. Taub moved to Receive & File the Clerk/Register's Report. Supported by Crawford. Motion carried on a voice vote. Moss moved approval of MR #01305. Supported by Taub. Discussion followed. Taub withdrew support for the motion. Moss withdrew his motion. Moss moved to Report on MR #01305 to the full Board with the recommendation that this issue is of enough significance that the full board should determine a final action. Supported by Taub. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. General Government Committee Page 3 December 6, 2001 COMMUNICATIONS OTHER BUSINESS/ADJOURNMENT Crawford moved to adjourn. Supported by Taub. Motion carried on a voice vote.
