Supported by Kowall. Motion carried on a voice vote. AGENDA ITEMS 1. COUNTY EXECUTIVE – EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND PREPAREDNESS – FY 2002 SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDS AMENDED GRANT AGREEMENT FOR TERRORISM PREPAREDNESS - ACCEPTANCE On August 2, 2002 the 2002 Supplemental Appropriations Act for Furth er Recovery from and Response to Terrorist Attacks on the United States was passed by Congress and signed by the President. The Act authorizes federal funding for the updating of Emergency Operations Plans (EOPs) with the emphasis on terrorism preparednes s. OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS 1200 N. Scott Helaine Zack PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE Page 2 August 31, 2004 Oakland County had applied for and received $70,746. Oakland County was informed that additional funds were available for eligible programs that had received the initial award. Thus, Oakland County applied for and received $240,000 in grant funding t o conduct vulnerability assessments for two Oakland County Airports and local cities, villages and townships (CVT) public safety buildings. Oakland County would contract with a company to perform these vulnerability assessments. The resolution reflects t hat the Oakland County Board of Commissioners accepts $240,000 in grant funding from the State of Michigan, and it authorizes the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners to execute the grant agreement and approve any grant extensions or changes, within 15% of the original award. Acceptance of this grant does not obligate Oakland County to any future commitment, and continuation is contingent upon continued grant funding. Scott moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Zack. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS A. Sheriff’s Office – FY 2005 Secondary Road Patrol and Traffic Accident Prevention Program Grant Application Douglas moved to receive and file Item A. Supported by Middleton. Motion carried on a voice vote.
