Genesee County, and an interlocal agreement was reached, approved and signed by the
Oakland County Board of Commissioners in September of 2004. The Medical Examiner’s
Office was asked to give updates showing the revenue generated from the Genesee

OTHER BUSINESS/ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Douglas expressed her concern about the incident of the gas main leak that
had occurred on Sunday, May 1, 2005, at approximately 10:15 p.m. The media was
confused, and the 9-1-1 system was jammed. Four fire and police d epartments were
involved in the event, and Mike Sturm from Oakland County Emergency Response and
Preparedness was informed, but the citizens did not know what was going on.
Commissioner Douglas suggested that someone from Consumers Energy be invited to the
June 7, 2005 Public Services Committee meeting to ask them what their future plan of
action is if a circumstance such as this were to happen again. The Oakland County
Sheriff’s Department would also be invited to give their input on the event.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned
at 2:05 p.m.
