Chairperson Patterson called the meeting of the General Government Committee to order at
1:06 p.m. in Committee Room A, Commissioners’ Wing, County Service Center, Pontiac,
Michigan.

1. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – APPOINTMENTS TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE
COORDINATING COUNCIL
The three applicants were interviewed, beginning with Mr. Berman at 1:09 p.m., Ms. Allen at 1:28
p.m. and Ms. Danko at 1:42 p.m. After the interviews the committee discussed their views about
each applicant.
Crawford moved to report to the full Board with the recommendation that Elmeka N. Allen
and Robin Danko be appointed to the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council as General
Public Members, and that Ryan Lee Berman be appointed as an alternate to the Criminal
Justice Coordinating Council for the General Public Member category. Supported by
Wilson.

Motion carried on a roll call vote with Coulter and Melton absent.
2. REVIEW APPLICATIONS FOR SOLID WASTE PLANNING COMMITTEE/POSSIBLE
APPOINTMENTS
There were several appointments that expired on October 11, 2005 for the Act 641 Solid Waste
Planning Committee. The General Government Committee reviewed the applications received in
each category.
Hatchett moved to report to the full Board with the recommendation th at the incumbents
that served on the Solid Waste Planning Committee be re -appointed, as follows:
SOLID WASTE INDUSTRY (4 seats) ENVIRONMENTAL INTEREST GROUPS (2 seats)
Mike Czuprenski, SOCCRA, Incumbent Jean Gramlich, Easter Seals, Incumbent

Motion carried on a roll call vote with Kowall and Molnar voting no and Wilson, Coulter and
Melton absent.
Hatchett moved to consider the remaining vacancies on the Act 641 Solid Waste Planning
Committee after January 2006. Supported by Kowall.
Motion carried on a roll call vote with Wilson, Coulter and Melton absent.
