COUNTY EXECUTIVE – EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND PREPAREDNESS – ACCEPTANCE FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, STATE OF MICHIGAN 2004 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM The State of Michigan, under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the State Homeland Security Grant Program, awarded Oakland County $4,390,666 in 2004 for the State Homeland Security Program for the period of August 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005. The Michigan Department of State Police Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division made grant funding available to enhance interoperable communications as part of a redistribution of funds unde r the 2004 Program. Each eligible program can apply for up to $22,000 per jurisdiction towards interoperable communication equipment purchases, and the State of Michigan awarded Oakland County $22,000 towards the purchase of this equipment. Gregory moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Zack. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
