Motion carried on a voice vote. AGENDA ITEMS 1. COUNTY EXECUTIVE – EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND PREPAREDNESS – PERFORMANCE GRANT AGREEMENT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2006 ACCEPTANCE The State of Michigan awarded Oakland County $46,472 in grant funding for the period of October 1, 2005, through September 30, 2006. The funds would be used for a program to encourage the development of comprehensive disaster preparedness and assistance plans, programs, capabilities and organizations by the States and local governments. This is the 34th year of grant funding for this program. The resolution authorizes the acceptance of the $46,472 grant. Zack moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Douglas. Motion carried on a roll call vote with Scott absent. 2. ANALYSIS OF REVENUES GENERATED FROM GENESEE COUNTY CONTRACT FOR AUTOPSIES PERFORMED BY OAKLAND COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER’S OFFICE Per MR #04254 and #05223, the Medical Examiner’s Office is required to report biannually to the Public Services and Finance Committees of the revenues and/or losses generated from the Genesee County contract for Autopsies performed. For FY 2006, from October, 2005 through April, 2006, the amount billed was $384,240.00, with contract expenditures being $188,941, leaving a year-to-date actual revenue of $195,299. Mr. Gerds explained that in October, when the contract comes up for renewal, the Medical Examiner’s Office is considering requesting a position for an additional toxicologist lab chemist for processing. Douglas moved to receive and file the Analysis of Revenues generated from the Genesee County Contract for Autopsies Performed by Oak land County Medical Examiner’s Office. Supported by Gregory. Motion carried on a roll call vote with Scott absent. 3. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AT THE MICHIGAN RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL – 2006 SEASON The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office received a request by the Michigan Renaissance Festival to supply patrol officers for law enforcement services for the upcoming 2006 season. The Sheriff’s Office has agreed, and Corporation Counsel has approved the attached contract for these services. The resolution authorizes the execution of the attached contract. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – PAINT CREEK TRAILWAYS CONTRACT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES FOR THE 2006 SEASON The Paint Creek Trailways Commission has requested a contract between Oakland County and Paint Creek Trailways for Law Enforcement Services for the 2006 season. The Sheriff’s Office has agreed, and Corporation Counsel has approved the attached co ntract. The resolution authorizes the execution of the attached contract and the increase of the total amount of Part-Time, Non-Eligible Mounted Deputy hours by 500/yr. Douglas moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Molnar. Motion carried on a roll call vote with Scott absent. 5. SHERIFF’S OFFICE, PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE, CIRCUIT COURT AND COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS – FY 2006 BYRNE JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) ACCEPTANCE The U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs awarded Oakland County, along with the City of Pontiac, $114,411 in grant funding . Oakland County’s share of the award is $38,031. There are no required local matching funds. The funds would be used to purchase capital equipment for the Sheriff’s Office, Prosecutor’s Office, Circuit Court and Community Corrections. Per MR #06036, Oakland County will act as the fiduciary and lead agency for the entire award. The resolution authorizes the acceptance of the grant and the execution of the agreement. Acceptance of this grant does not obligate Oakland County to any future commitment, and continuation of this program is contingent upon future levels of grant program funding.
