Chairperson Potter called the meeting of the Public Services Committee to order at 1:30 p.m. in
Committee Room A, Commissioners’ Wing, County Service Center, Pontiac, Michigan.

Scott moved to approve the Minutes of October 9, 2007 as printed. Supported by Gingell.

1. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – CONTRACT AMENDMENT #2 FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF ROCHESTER HILLS 2004 -2008
The Sheriff’s Department has contracted with the City of Rochester Hills to provide law enforcement
services for several years. The City of Rochester Hills is requesting the addition of one Patrol Investigator
to bring the total number of Patrol Investigators to twelve and the total number of contracted positions to
sixty. One unmarked vehicle with mobile and prep radio will be added to the county fleet effective January
1, 2008.
Middleton moved approval of the attached suggested reso lution. Supported by Spector.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
2. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – USE OF FORFEITED FUNDS FOR POLICY MOTORCYCLES
It has been the policy of the Oakland County Sheriff to lease police motorcycles. However, the new lease
rate is $2,390 per unit per year making it economically feasible to buy rather than lease police motorcycles.
The Sheriff is requesting that a portion of the forfeited funds be used to pay for the purchase of twelve
motorcycles this year at an estimated cost of $197,064.
Scott moved approval of the attached suggested re solution. Supported by Gregory.

3. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – CONTRACT FOR AUXILIARY DEPUTY SERVICES IN THE CITY OF PONTIAC
2007-2008
The City of Pontiac has requested the Oakland County Sheriff provide patrol services to the citizens of the
City for special events within the City. The City of Pontiac will pay the established standard law
enforcement services overtime rates for these services.
Gregory moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Gershenson.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote:
