HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEMBERS PRESENT: Sue Ann Douglas, Kim T. Capello, Eric Coleman, Thomas F. Middleton, John A. Scott, Robert Gosselin, Michael J. Gingell, Mattie Hatchett and Janet Jackson HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSENT: None. OTHERS PRESENT: Human Resources Cathy Shallal, Manager Sheriff’s Office Dale Cunningham, Business Manager Board of Commissioners Sheryl Mitchell, Sr. BOC Analyst Helen Hanger, Sr. Committee Coordinator APPROVAL OF THE PREVIOUS MINUTES Gosselin moved approval of the minutes of September 16, 2009. Supported by Jackson. Motion carried on a voice vote. PUBLIC COMMENT None. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – FY 2010 AUTOMOBILE THEFT PREVENTION AUTHORITY (ATPA) GRANT ACCEPTANCE The Sheriff is requesting authorization to accept Fiscal Year 2010 (FY 10) funding of $1,191,191 from the Michigan Automobile Theft Prevention Authority (ATPA). The County will administer $895,401, with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and the Hazel Park Police Department Sue Ann Douglas Chairperson Kim T. Of the $895,401 being administered by the County, the County will receive $334,086, the Farmington Hills Police Department will receive $56,7 92; the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department will receive $100,495; the Hazel Park Police Department will receive $47,401 and the Waterford Township Police Department will receive $56,823. Oakland County and all local units will provide a like amount as the required match. West Bloomfield Township and Wayne County will no longer be participating in the program. The ATPA has authorized use of Wayne County’s funds to offset expenses in adding the City of Pontiac and one additional agency to the FY 10 program. The County’s grant match is available in the Non-Departmental Grant Match account. Funds will be used to continue four Deputy II positions and one Sergeant position. One Special Revenue Full-time Eligible Deputy II position will be created in the Sheriff’s Investigative & Forensic Services/Special Teams Unit. One additional vehicle will be required; therefore, the Sheriff plans to reactivate an unmarked vehicle recently turned in to the Motor Coleman moved to report to recommend approval of the attached suggested Resolution. Supported by Middleton. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. COMMUNICATIONS/CONSENT AGENDA A. Position Change Summary Report (Final for FY 2009) Scott moved to receive and filed Communication A. Supported by Jackson. Motion carried on a voice vote.
