Chairperson Long called the meeting of the General Government Committee to order at 9:23 a.m. in
Committee Room A of the Commissioners’ Auditorium Wing, County Service Center in Pontiac,
Michigan.

Taub moved approval of the minutes of October 29, 2009 as printed. Supported by Potts.
Motion carried on a voice vote.
AGENDA
Taub moved to amend the agenda and add consideration of the appointment of the regional
planning agency representative to agenda item 1. Supported by Schwartz.
Motion to amend the agenda carried on a voice vote.

1. SOLID WASTE PLANNING COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS – TOWNSHIP GOVERNMENT
AND SEMCOG
Taub moved to recommend that JoAnn VanTassel be appointed to the Solid Waste
Planning Committee as the Township Government Representative. Supported by Hatchett.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
Schwartz moved to recommend that Robert DePalma be appointed to the Solid Waste
Planning Committee as the Township Government Representative’s Designee (votes in the
absence of the Township Government Representative). Supported by Gingell.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
Taub moved to recommend that Chuck Hersey, Manager of the Southeast Michigan Council
of Governments (SEMCOG) Environmental Programs, be appointed to the Solid Waste
Planning Committee as the Re gional Solid Waste Planning Agency representative.
Supported by Schwartz.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
