Screenings will be held on Monday, April 12, 2010 and Thursday, April 29, 2010 . Testing is done by a third party ve ndor and results are not shared with Oakland County. Supported by McGillivray. Motion carried on a voice vote. 1. COUNTY CLERK/REGISTER OF DEEDS – ELECTIONS DIVISION – AGREEMENT TO UTILIZE THE SERVICES OF THE OAKLAND COUNTY BOARD OF CANVASSERS BY THE CHARTER TOWNSHIPS OF OAKLAND, ORION AND OXFORD The Clerk is requesting authorization to enter into agreements with the Charter Townships of Oakland, Orion and Oxford to provide the services of the Oakland County Board of Canvassers at a fee of $25.00 per precinct to help defray the cost of election certification. Jacobsen moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supporte d by Taub. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Capello absent. 2. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH DIVISION – 2010 W.K. KELLOGG FOUNDATION GRANT TO SUPPORT MICHIGAN NURSE FAMILY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM AGREEMENT ACCEPTANCE The Health Division is requesting authorization to accept a W.K. Kellogg Foundation grant of $55,000 from the Nurse-Family Partnership for the period of January 4, 2010 through March 31, 2010. Funding for the Michigan Nurse-Family Partnership Program was discontinued by the State. These grant funds will be used to transition remaining cases from the Nurse Family Partnership Program to the Health Division’s Community Nursing Unit. No positions are funded by the grant. Taub moved to recommend approval of the a ttached suggested resolution. Supported by Gershenson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. 3. MR #10017 – BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – DESIGNATING APRIL 1, 2010 AS CENSUS DAY IN OAKLAND COUNTY The resolution was introduced by Commissioners Taub and Nash to designate April 1, 2010 as Census Day in Oakland County and join the rest of the nation as a 2010 Census Partner. Ms. Brown and Mr. Atwater joined Commissioners Taub and Nash in explaining the importance of each household filling out the cens us form as the resulting population data that is submitted impacts the allocation of federal and state funding and redistricting of political subdivisions at all levels. Taub moved to report to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Nash. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – APPOINTMENTS TO THE JOB EVALUATION REVIEW PANEL Following recommendation from the Human Resources Committee, the General Government Committee is required to reco mmend the appointment of two members and one alternate Board of Commissioners’ members to the Job Evaluation Review Panel for a one year period for calendar year 2010 pursuant to MR #95068. Taub moved to report to recommend the following commissioners b e appointed to the Job Evaluation Review Panel for a one -year term of January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010: John Scott, Eric Coleman and Mattie Hatchett as alternate . Supported by Gershenson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. COMMUNICATIONS A. Board of Road Commissioners for Oakland County Minutes - 12/17/09. Jacobsen moved to receive and file the communications. Supported by McGillivray. Motion carried on a voice vote. OTHER BUSINESS/ADJOURNMENT Chairperson Long explained that each member of the committee had been provided with copies of the applications for the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority and asked for input on how to proceed. A study group was established, consisting of Commissioners Taub, Potts, McGillivray and Gershenson, to review the applications and provide recommendations on which applicants would be interviewed by the General Government Committee . The Study Group will meet on February 2, 2010 at 500 p.m. There being no other business to come before the committee, the meeting was adjourned at 10:13 a.m. ______________________________ _______________________________ Helen A.
