McGillivray PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE Page 2 November 9, 2010 PROSECUTING ATTORNEY – 2011-2013 TITLE IV-E CLIENT SERVICES CONTRACT PROFC (C -11-63001) – UNIT RATE – CONTRACT ACCEPTANCE The Department of Human Services of the State of Michigan is extending a contract agreement with the Oakland County Prosecuting Attorney to provide legal consultation regarding the abuse/neglect of child ren cases, court proceedings, establishment of protocol, petition information and periodic strategy and training meetings with DHS staff. The contract period is January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2013 . The Prosecutor’s Office may bill for legal services a total of $1,349,331 over the three years of the contract with a yearly not to exceed billable amount of $449,777. The existing staff at the Prosecutor’s Office that currently represents DHS will co ntinue to do so and no new staff or position changes are required. Zack moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Burns. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Burns absent. SHERIFF’S OFFICE - FISCAL YEAR 2011 SECONDARY ROAD PATROL AND TRAFFIC ACCIDENT PREVENTION PROGRAM GRANT ACCEPTANCE The Michigan State Police Office of Highway Safety Planning has awarded Oakland County a grant in the amount of $845,900. This grant provides continuation of funding for six SR FTE Deputy II positions, and one SR FTE Sergeant position in the Patrol Services Division. One SR FTE Sergeant position will be deleted. No county match or additional positions are required. Continuation of this program and associated positions are conti ngent upon future levels of grant funding. Zack moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Taub. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Burns and Zack absent. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS Middleton moved to Receive & File Item A. Supported by Taub. A. Citizen’s Friend of the Court Advisory Committee Minutes 9/13/10 Motion carried on a voice vote. OTHER BUSINESS/ADJOURNMENT Per Commissioner MCGillivray’s request Mr. Poisson of Inf ormation Technology presented the Committee with a breakdown of the approximately $3 million annual IT charge for the Jail/Sheriff’s Office.
