Weipert Mattie Hatchett Tim Greimel Craig Covey Human Resources Committee Page 2 December 7, 2011 MR #11301 SHERIFF’S OFFICE – STANDARD LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF LYON, JANUARY 1, 2012 – DECEMBER 31, 2012 For several years the Charter Township of Lyon has contracted with the Sheriff’s Office and has requested to enter into a new, one year, law enforcement service agr eement. The Charter Township of Lyon is requesting the deletion of two Deputy II (no-fill) positions in the Contracted Patrol Unit/Patrol Services Division of the Sheriff’s Office, bringing the number of Deputy II (no-fill) to ten and total number of deputies contracted to twelve. Future level of service, including the continuation of positions is contingent upon the level of funding associated with this agreement. Weipert moved the Human Resources Committee Report to the Board with the recommendation MR #11301 be adopted. Supported by Bosnic. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Zack, Hatchett and Greimel absent. MR #11300 SHERIFF’S OFFICE – STANDARD LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF HIGHLAND, JANUA RY 1, 2012 – DECEMBER 31, 2012 For several years the Charter Township of Highland has contracted with the Sheriff’s Office and has requested to enter into a new, one year, law enforcement service agreement. The Township is requesting the deletion of one Lieutenant and one Deputy II (no-fill) position in the Contracted Patrol Unit/Patrol Services Division of the Sheriff’s Office. Future level of service, including the continuation of positions is contingent upon the level of funding associated with this agreement. Covey moved the Human Resources Committee Report to the Bo ard with the recommendation MR #11300 be adopted. Supported by Dwyer. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Zack, Hatchett and Greimel absent. HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT – FISCAL YEAR 2012 – FISCAL YEAR 2013 COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT EXTENSION FOR EMPLOYEES REPRE SENTED BY MICHIGAN NURSES ASSOCIATION The County and the Michigan Nurses Association have negotiated a collective bargaining agreement extension for Fiscal Year 2012 and Fiscal Year 2013 for approximately 92 Public Health Nurses. The Agreement provides wages remain unchanged for Fiscal Year 2012 and a wage and benefit re-opener for Fiscal Year 2013. Middleton moved approval of the attached suggested resolution and to refer it directly to the Finance Committee. Supported by Nuccio. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Zack, Hatchett and Greimel absent. APPEAL OF SALARY GRADE PLACEMENT BY DESIREE STANFIELD, P&R COMMUNICATION SUPERVISOR, PER MERIT RULE 2 Ms. Stanfield is appealing the Human Resources determination. Merit Rule 2.2.2.3.1 provides that an employee has the right to request the Human Resources Committee forward an appeal to the Job Evaluation Review Panel. The Human Resources Committee can either forward the request to the panel, or receive and file the request, resulting in no further action. The Human Resources Department studied Ms. Stanfield’s request to determine whether her salary grade was appropriate or should be increased from Grade 13 to Grade 15. The Human Resources Department determined the P&R Communications Supervisor classification should be increased one salary grade, from a Grade 13 to a Grade 14 and requested no further action be taken. Covey moved to Receive & File the request. Supported by Middleton Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Zack, Hatchett and Greimel absent. Human Resources Committee Page 3 December 7, 2011 OAKFIT WELLNESS REVIEW – DECEMBER 2011 The OakFit Wellness Program began in March 2006. Their mission is to assis t Oakland County employees with establishing and maintaining healthy behaviors in order to improve overall quality of life, enhance productivity, and reduce long term employee/employer health care costs. Nancy Scarlet highlighted information regarding the numerous programs from inception through October 2011. Dwyer moved to Receive & File. Supported by Middleton.
