Supported by Weipert. Motion carried on a voice vote. PUBLIC COMMENT None. AGENDA ITEMS 1. CIRCUIT COURT – 2014 URBAN DRUG COURT INITIATIVE (UDCI) GRANT PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE The Circuit Court is seeking approval of the grant acceptance from the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO.) This is the second year of receiving this grant. These funds are targeted for the Pontiac area. To become eligible for services, a person’s offense has to have been committed in Pontiac and the crime must be believed to be a result of their drug addiction. The assistant position is responsible for entering statistics into the state system and statistical recordkeeping. The total amount of the grant is $420,320. Hatchett moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Jackson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. 2. 52nd DISTRICT COURT/DIVISION I (NOVI) – 2014 MICHIGAN DRUG COURT GRANT PROGRAM – ACCEPTANCE The Novi District Court is seeking approval of $150,380 in grant funding from the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO), which includes $75,000 in grant funding from SCAO, $68,480 in General Fund Support and a $6,900 donation from the Sobriety Court Adv isory Committee 501(c)(3) for the period of October 1, 2013 through September 30, 2014. The $75,000 in funds will support a newly- created full-time probation officer position and associated benefits and will fund a small portion of graduation costs. Weipert moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Jackson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. 3. 52nd DISTRICT COURT/DIVISION IV (TROY) – 2014 MICHIGAN DRUG COURT GRANT PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE The Troy District Court is seeking approval of the grant acceptance from the State Court Administrative Office (SCAO.) The SCAO grant is $13,000 and will be applied to the Drug Court for the creation of a clerical position, alcohol and drug testing, travel and Michigan Association of Drug Court Professionals conference fees for probation staff. The total amount of funding is $70,153. Middleton moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Hoffman. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. COMMUNICATIONS None. OTHER BUSINESS/ADJOURNMENT Karyann Gerber was introduced to the Committee. She was observing the meeting as part of her final project for an American Government class at Oakland Community College.
