Chairperson Long called the meeting of the General Government Committee to order at 6:47 p.m. in
Committee Room A of the Commissioners’ Auditorium Wing, County Service Center in Pontiac,
Michigan.

REGULAR AGENDA
1. AREA AGENCY ON AGING 1 -B – FY 2016 ANNUAL IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
Area Agency on Aging 1 -B seeks approval of the Annual Implementation Plan for the fiscal year
2016. Ms. Marzolf spoke about the services that the Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) provides
to persons 60 years or older. The annual plan outlines where approximately $22 million of state
and federal dollars is allocated. The majority of funds goes toward food, mostly as home-delivered
meals. AAA 1-B is the fifth largest agency of it s kind. The counties surrounding Wayne County
make up the region that is served, including Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Monroe, Washtenaw
and St. Clair. Michigan is a no-wait state for home-delivered meals. Ms. Marzolf answered
Committee members’ questions. The following website was mentioned as a mobile resource in the
area: www.myride2.com.
Matis moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by
Quarles.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call with Gershenson and Woodward absent .
2. COUNTY CLERK/REGISTER OF DEEDS – TRANSFER OF ONE (1) OFFICE LEADER
POSITION AND ONE (1) OFFICE ASSISTANT II POSITION IN THE VITAL RECORDS UNIT
FROM GF/GP FUND TO SR FUND
The Court Clerk/Register of Deeds requests authorization to transfer an Office Leader and Office
Assistant II from the General Fund to the Special Revenue Fund. The two staff positions process
the Concealed Pistol Licenses (CPL) in the department. A CPL Fund is available to support these
positions rather than being paid through the General Fund . The Gun Board is slated to be
eliminated due to recent legislation. Ms. Brown answered questions posed by the Committee
members.
Hoffman moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported
by Fleming.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Gershenson and Woodward absent .
