WATER RESOURCES COMMISSIONER – 2015 LAKE LEVEL ASSESSMENTS FOR OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE The Water Resources Commissioner (WRC) is seeking authorization to conduct assessmen ts on lake levels regarding 29 lakes located within Oakland County. The WRC maintains and operates equipment that regulates the water levels, and incurs costs while doing so. The total aggregate amount is $463,900 to be assessed against the benefitting p roperties. Properties that will typically share this cost are lake front or those with lake access. Scott moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by McGillivray. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Jackson absent. Dwyer moved for a direct referral to the Finance Committee. Supported by Scott. Motion to refer carried on a voice vote. 2. WATER RESOURCES COMMISSIONER – 2015 CHAPTER 4 DRAIN MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT RESOLUTION The WRC is seeking author ization to conduct assessments on 42 drains located within Oakland County. The WRC maintains, operates, cleans and repairs open ditch and enclosed drains . Costs are incurred while doing so, and the total aggregate amount is $270,500 to be assessed agains t the benefitting properties. The drains were developed at the turn of the century, are old, and have frequent problems. The WRC works closely with communities in an effort to resolve issues. The drainage district is mostly in the northern communities of Oakland County, as well as in Troy and Rochester Hills . Dwyer moved approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Bowman . Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Jackson absent. Scott moved for a direct referral to the Fin ance Committee. Supported by Bowman. Motion to refer carried on a voice vote. 3. WATER RESOURCES COMMISSIONER – 2015 CHAPTER 18 DRAIN MAINTENANCE ASSESSMENT RESOLUTION The WRC is seeking authorization to conduct assessments on 30 drains located within Oak land and West Bloomfield Townships . The WRC maintains, operates, cleans and repairs open ditch and enclosed drains. Costs are incurred while doing so, and the total aggregate amount is $105,500 to be assessed against the benefitting properties. Said properties are typically subdivisions, condominiums, and strip malls. McGillivray moved approval of the attached suggested r esolution. Supported by Gosselin . Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Jackson absent. McGillivray moved for a direct referral to the Finance Committee. Supported by Scott. Motion to refer carried on a voice vote.
