Chairperson Hoffman called the meeting of the Human Resources Committee to order at 9:21 a.m.
in Committee Room A of the Commissioners’ Auditorium Wing, County Service Center in Pontiac,
Michigan.

Weipert moved approval of the previous minutes of January 13, 2016 , as printed. Supported
by Spisz.

AGENDA ITEMS
1. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH DIVISION - MICHIGAN
FITNESS FOUNDATION SNAP -ED GRANT ACCEPTANCE
The Health Division is seeking acceptance of a grant from the Michigan Fitness Foundation in the amount
of $42,592. The funds will be used to create one Special Revenue (SR) Part-Time Non -Eligible (PTNE)
Public Health Educator II position in the Health Division. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Education (SNAP -ED) grant funding will be used to provide nutrition education and food sample types to
food stamp recipients. The program focuses on making better, healthier food choices on a low income
budget. The grant previously came through the Michigan Department of Community Health, but had to
be changed once the department merged with the Health and Human Services Department.
Zack moved to report to recommend approval of the attached suggested Resolu tion. Supported
by Spisz.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote.
