Vice Chairperson Spisz called the meeting of the Public S ervices Committee to order at 11:01 a.m.

AGENDA ITEMS
1. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – CONTRACT FOR AUXILIARY DEPUTY SERVICES IN THE CITY
OF WIXOM 2016
The Sheriff’s Office is seeking approval of the contract for auxiliary deputy services with Wixom.
The services of a Mounted Deputy h ave been requested to be continued for the annual Fourth of
July fireworks.
Scott moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by
McGillivray.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Dwyer absent.
McGillivray moved to directly refer the resolution to the Finance Committee. Supported by
Scott.
Motion to refer carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Dwyer absent.
2. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – CONTRACT FOR POLICE AND FIRE DISPATCH SERVICES IN
THE CITY OF AUBURN HILLS 2016-2018 AND CREATION OF NEW DIVISION, UNIT AND
POSITIONS
The Sheriff’s Office is requesting approval of the contract for police and fire dispatch services with
Auburn Hills and the creation of a new division, unit and positions . The effective date of the
contract is July 11, 2016. The dispatch center becoming the Emergency
Communications/Operations Center brings seven new dispatc h positions to be added to the
division. The supervisory position will be reclassified to a Lieutena nt position. This move to a
centralized dispatch will be more efficient and create cost s savings.
Scott moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by
Jackson.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Dwyer absent.
Kowall moved to directly refer the resolution to the Human Resources and Finance
Committees. Supported by McGillivray.
Motion to refer carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Dwyer absent.

OTHER BUSINESS/ADJOURNMENT
Vice Chairperson Spisz set a Public Hearing regarding the JAG Program Grant Application for the
Board of Commissioners’ meeting on June 16, 2016, at 9:40 a.m. Comments or questions
regarding this item will be taken up at that meeting.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned at
11:09 a.m.
