Supported by Fleming. Motion carried on a voice vote. AGENDA Kochenderfer moved approval of the agenda, as presented. Supported by Hoffman. Motion carried on a voice vote. PUBLIC COMMENT None. MR #17222 – BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – SUPPORT SB 0274 & OPPOSE HB 4601 – AMEND PUBLIC ACT 368 OF 1978, PUBLIC HEALTH CODE The resolution urges support of Senate Bill 0274 and opposition to House Bill 4601 regarding the prescription of controlled substances. The passage of HB 4601 i s currently pending. This House Bill limits the dosage that physicians are allowed to prescribe f or their patients to 100 milligrams per day. Commissioner Kochenderfer opposes the adoption of this Bill due to limits placed on the medication amounts and explained that s ome people metabolize medications differently , varying their needs. Commissioner Kochenderfer supports SB 0274 which limits physicians to prescribe no more than a seven- day supply of medication at a time for acute pain patients . Kochenderfer moved to report to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution . Supported by Hoffman. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Woodward absent . 2. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – LIBRARY BOARD APPOINTME NTS Two Library Board appointments will expire on August 24, 2017. John Chambers and Lillian Steuben both wish to be reappointed and have submitted their applications. Ms. Steuben was recently appointed for a partial term to fill a vacancy. There are no term limits on these appointments. Mr. Chambers has served since 1997 and is currently the chairperson. Ms. Mancini supports both reappointments. Fleming moved to recommend the reappointment of John Chambers and Lillian Steuben as representatives to the Library Board for a five-year term beginning August 25, 2017 and ending August 24, 2022.
