OAKLAND COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION – SALE OF A 2.7-ACRE PARCEL LOCATED AT 9821 SASHABAW ROAD IN INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN AND CREATION OF A CONSERVATION/ACCESS EASEMENT The Parks and Recreation Commission is requesting approval of the sale of property at 9821 Sashabaw Road, Independence Township, and the creation of a conservation/access easement. Since the acquisition of the Upper Bushman Lake property in 2010, Parks and Recreation has looked to acquire property to allow additional connectivity for a future trail and control of the Clinton River tributary that runs through the property. The land known as the Schubert property was purchased in May of this year with the intent to split the property and keep approximately 1.7 acres of the property. The property was not able to be split and was converted into a conservation/access easement. A broker marketed the property and found a buyer who made an offer and down payment. Costs associated with the sale include a real estate commission, closing costs, boundary survey, as well as costs to prepare the property for sale, such as painting and repairs. Crawford moved approval of the attached suggested Fiscal Note. Supported by Long. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Zack absent. OTHER BUSINESS/ADJOURNMENT There being no other business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 7:03 p.m. ______________________________________ _____________________________ Tracy Stolzenfeld, Committee Coordinator Chris Ward, Administrative Director NOTE: The foregoing minutes are subject to Committee approval.
