Supported by Kochenderfer. Motion carried on a voice vote. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Zack moved approval of the agenda, as presented. Supported by Middleton. Motion carried on a voice vote. AGENDA ITEMS 1. MR #18061 – PUBLIC SERVICES/ANIMAL CONTROL & SHERIFF’S OFFICE – TRANSFER OF DISPATCH SERVICES FROM ANIMAL CONTROL TO SHERIFF’S OFFICE AND POSITION DELETIONS AND CREATIONS The resolution reflects that, having held the required Public Hearing, the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approves the transfer of dispatch services from Animal Control to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office unit. As part of the transfer, two positions will be deleted in Animal Control, and one position will be created in the Sheriff’s Office. Commissioner Bowman indicated that he is thankful for the services that Animal Control provides in Pontiac and asked if dispatch services are available for Pontiac residents as well. Mr. Gatt stated that if there is a problem with a domestic animal, residents can call dispatch. If it is a wild animal, then the Road Commission for Oakland County or the lo cal department of public safety should be contacted. Chairperson Hoffman set a public hearing on this matter for March 21, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. Weipert moved to report to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Supported by Bowman. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote. 2. HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT – EXTENSION OF MERIT SYSTEM CERTIFIED ELIGIBILITY LISTS Under the provisions of Section Vl-H-1 of Merit System Resolution #08119, the Human Resources Department is requesting the extension of 22 Eligibility Lists for an additional six (6) months. Commissioner Bowman expressed his appreciation for the Eligibility List that reflects the percentage of minorities who have applied for the County roles; however, he requested that there be a record of diversity of the County overall, and until he receives that information, he cannot support the extension of the Eligibility Lists. Weipert moved approval of the extension of the requested Eligibility Lists. Supported by Middleton. Motion carried on a roll call vote with Bowman voting no. COMMUNICATIONS A. Multi-Department: Circuit Court, Sheriff’s Office, 52nd District Courts, Prosecutor’s Office and Community Corrections – Compliance Plan for Indigent Defense Standards 1-4 Grant Application (Second Submission) B. Position Change Summary – FY 2018 C. Retirement Board Minutes – January 11, 2018 Kochenderfer moved to receive and file the Communications. Supported by Weipert. Motion carried on a voice vote.
