APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Taub moved approval of the minutes of January 14, 2019, as printed. Seconded by Kochenderfer. Motion carried on a voice vote. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Gershenson moved approval of the agenda. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried on a voice vote. AGENDA ITEMS 1. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES/CHILDREN’S VILLAGE DIVISION- MANDY’S PLACE PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION SERVICES DONATION The resolution authorizes the Oakland County Children’s Village Foundation with the approval to accept the donation of playground equipment, including installation services for the benefit of the children residing at Mandy’s Place at Children’s Village. This new play structure will replace the previous one that was removed. Mandy’s Place is an emergency shelter program that provides short-term placement services for children from birth to age 17. Mandy’s Place offers therapeutic, homelike intervention for youth. Nelson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Gershenson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Powell absent. 2. PRESENTATION – WATER RESOURCES COMMISSIONER The Water Resources Commissioner’s office (WRC) gave an overview presentation that included the following: • Regional Collaborations that the office is currently engaged in or planning to engage in. • Proposed legislation regarding State Lead and Copper Rules. • Presenters provided information about the functions and responsibilities of the WRC that includes: water and system operating agreements, sewage disposal systems, wastewater treatment plants, county drains and storm water management, and retention treatment facilities. • The community outreach that WRC staff does to educate the public on the impact of fat, grease, oil, and wipes on the water and sewer systems. COMMUNICATIONS A. Michigan Department of Health and Human Services – 2019 Meeting Dates Nelson moved to receive and file the Communications item. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried on a voice vote.
