HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 2019.04.29 - 37254 April 29, 2019 Chairperson Luebs called the meeting of the Healthy Communities and Environment Committee to order at 11:00 a.m. in Committee Room A of the Commissioners’ Auditorium Wing, County Service Center in Pontiac, Michigan. MEMBERS PRESENT: Penny Luebs, Adam Kochenderfer, Marcia Gershenson, Kristen Nelson, Shelley Goodman Taub MEMBERS ABSENT WITH NOTICE: Angela Powell PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairperson Luebs led the Committee in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Taub moved approval of the minutes of March 18, 2019, as presented. Seconded by Gershenson. Motion carried with Powell absent. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Gershenson moved approval of the agenda, as presented. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None. COMMUNICATIONS A. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried. AGENDA ITEMS 1. VETERAN’S SERVICES DIVISION – COUNTY VETERANS SERVICE FUND GRANT Taub moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Gershenson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Powell absent. 2. PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION – APPROVAL OF OAKLAND COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION 2019 RULES AND REGULATIONS Nelson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Powell absent. 3. PRESENTATION – CHILDREN’S VILLAGE Jody Overall, Manager, Health and Human Services - Children’s Village, and Kathy Forzley, Director, Health and Human Services, gave an overview of the Children’s Village facilities, programs and services. Nelson moved to receive and file the Children’s Village PowerPoint presentation document. Seconded by Gershenson. Motion carried.
