HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 2019.08.05 - 37280 August 5, 2019 Chairperson Luebs called the meeting of the Healthy Communities and Environment Committee to order at 11:02 a.m. in Committee Room A of the Commissioners’ Auditorium Wing, County Service Center in Pontiac, Michigan. MEMBERS PRESENT: Penny Luebs, Angela Powell, Marcia Gershenson, Kristen Nelson, Shelley Goodman Taub MEMBERS ABSENT WITH NOTICE: Adam Kochenderfer PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairperson Luebs led the Committee in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Nelson moved approval of the minutes of July 22, 2019, as presented. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Nelson moved approval of the agenda, as presented. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT Chairperson Luebs requested a moment of silence for the passing of L. Brooks Patterson. COMMUNICATIONS A. FY 2019 – FY 2021 Contingency Report Nelson moved to receive and file the Communications item. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried. PARKS AND RECREATION – APPROVAL OF REVISED OPERATING AGREEMENT WITH THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR AN OFF-ROAD VEHICLE PARK IN GROVELAND AND HOLLY TOWNSHIPS Nelson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Gershenson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Kochenderfer absent. 2. HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH DIVISION – AMENDMENT #7 OF THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF OAKLAND AND THE OAKLAND COMMUNITY HEALTH NETWORK FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION SERVICES Taub moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Nelson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Kochenderfer absent. 3. HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH DIVISION – NURSE, EDUCATION, PRACTICE, QUALITY AND RETENTION – REGISTERED NURSES IN PRIMARY CARE GRANT – ACCEPTANCE Taub moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Powell. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Kochenderfer absent. 4. HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES/HEALTH DIVISION – MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES 2019 CHILDHOOD LEAD EXPOSURE ELIMINATION INNOVATION GRANT – GRANT ACCEPTANCE Taub moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Gershenson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Kochenderfer absent. 5. PRESENTATION – MDHHS Vicki Cooley, Director, and Sherrie Ross, Board Member, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), gave an overview of the services provided by their organization. Nelson moved to receive and file the “MDHHS Annual Presentation Oakland County Board of Commissioners” PowerPoint presentation. Seconded by Powell. Motion carried. Nelson moved to report to Finance the recommendation that the Finance Committee consider a general budget increase for the Oakland County – Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. PRESENTATION – HEALTH DIVISION Leigh-Anne Stafford, Health Officer, and Kathy Forzley, Director, Health Division, gave an overview of the programs and services provided by their division. Powell moved to receive and file the “Oakland County Health Division” PowerPoint presentation and “Making A Difference” flyer. Seconded by Taub. Motion carried.
