HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes - 2019.08.06 - 37282William Miller Kristen Nelson Thomas Kuhn August 6, 2019 Chairperson McGillivray called the meeting of the Public Safety and Social Justice Committee to order at 11:00 a.m. in Committee Room A of the Commissioners’ Auditorium Wing, County Service Center in Pontiac, Michigan. MEMBERS PRESENT: Gary McGillivray, Janet Jackson, Kristen Nelson, Thomas Kuhn MEMBERS ABSENT WITH NOTICE: Bob Hoffman, William Miller PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairperson McGillivray led the Committee in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Jackson moved approval of the minutes of July 9, 2019, as presented. Seconded by Kuhn. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Nelson moved approval of the agenda, as presented. Seconded by Jackson. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT Chairperson McGillivray requested a moment of silence for the passing of L. Brooks Patterson. COMMUNICATIONS A. FY 2019 – FY 2021 Contingency Report B. Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center – Intake/Disposition for June 2019 Jackson moved to receive and file the Communications. Seconded by Kuhn. Motion carried. Seconded by Jackson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Hoffman and Miller absent. 2. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – USE OF FORFEITED FUNDS Jackson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Kuhn. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Hoffman and Miller absent. 3. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – ESTABLISHMENT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES CONTRACT OVERTIME RATES – JANUARY 1, 2019 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2021 – CORRECTION TO MR #18423 Nelson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Jackson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Hoffman and Miller absent. 4. SHERIFF’S OFFICE – LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE MICHIGAN RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL 2019-2021 SEASONS Nelson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Jackson. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Hoffman and Miller.
