Chairperson Luebs called the meeting of the Health, Safety and Human Services Committee to
order at 12:00 p.m. via Videoconference.
MEMBERS PRESENT:

MEMBERS ABSENT WITH NOTICE:
Adam Kochenderfer and Michael Gingell
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Chairperson Luebs led the Committee in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Nelson moved approval of the agenda, as presented. Seconded by Hoffman.
Motion carried.

REGULAR AGENDA
1. UPDATE ON LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITIES
Jim Ryan, Lobbyist, Public Affairs Associates, provided the Commissioners with an update
regarding current pending legislation at the State level.
2. CIRCUIT COURT – DELETE PTNE SENIOR PSYCHOLOGIST AND COLLEGE INTERN
POSITIONS AND CREATE ONE (1) FTE SENIOR PSYCHOLOGIST POSITION
Nelson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded
by Miller.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Kochenderfer and Gingell absent.
3. PUBLIC SERVICES/COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS – MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF
CORRECTIONS, OFFICE OF COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS, COMMUNITY
CORRECTIONS COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND APPLICATION FOR FY 2021
Nelson moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded
by Jackson.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Kochenderfer and Gingell absent.
4. MR #20249 – BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – RECOGNIZES JULY AS MINORITY
MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH IN OAKLAND COUNTY
Jackson moved to report to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution.
Seconded by Miller.
Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Kochenderfer and Gingell absent.

There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting adjourned at 12:22
p.m.
