MEMBERS PRESENT: David Woodward, Marcia Gershenson, Helaine Zack, Janet Jackson, Penny Luebs, Kristen Nelson, Shelley Taub, Philip Weipert, Thomas Kuhn MEMBERS ABSENT WITH NOTICE: Michael Spisz, William Miller PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Commissioner Weipert led the Committee in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Gershenson moved approval of the minutes from the September 2, 2020, Pandemic Response and Economic Recovery Committee, as presented. Seconded by Luebs. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Zack moved approval of the agenda. Seconded by Luebs. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None. COMMUNICATIONS A. County Executive – COVID-19 Update Sean Carlson, Deputy County Executive and Hilarie Chambers, Chief Deputy County Executive provided a COVID-19 Update and responded to questions posed by the Commissioners. COUNTY EXECUTIVE – ACCEPTANCE OF THE MICHIGAN DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY FIRST RESPONDER HAZARD PAY PREMIUMS PROGRAM – GRANT ACCEPTANCE Sean Carlson, Deputy County Executive, provided the Commissioners with an update on the Michigan Department of Treasury First Responder Hazard Pay Premiums Grant Program and answered questions posed by the Commissioners. Taub moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested resolution. Seconded by Luebs. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Miller and Spisz absent. 2. BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS – COUNTY EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENT – DIRECTOR OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AND HOMELAND SECURITY Hilarie Chambers, Chief Deputy County Executive, provided the Commissioners with an update on the appointment of a Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security and answered questions posed by the Commissioners. Zack moved to recommend approval of the attached suggested report. Seconded by Taub. Taub moved to amend the report as follows: Change the effective date to October 21, 2020. Seconded by Luebs Motion carried. Main motion, as amended, carried unanimously on a roll call vote with Miller and Spisz absent.
